A month ago I posted a beat which I made with my AKAI-keyboard’s MPC-style pads, and this is how it turned out. The lyrics (mostly written by Mathilda) is about how angry you can get with some people for being too perfect, too ambitious or just too good-looking. Yeah, you know that feeling, don’t you… It will be very interesting to see what our guitarist Mathias will do with this one (we do not refer to you, Mathias, as the prissy boy…).

Mathilda and I made the chorus to this one during a recent rehearsal with our full band (now featuring original Artymove-head Jonas Ortman). Everything had gone from worse to bad in terms of computers. We had some major problems with one of them and Mathilda and I was kind of restless and was both singing and playing with the arpeggiator on my keyboard – trying to make some euro disco pastiche. Basically the melody sprung from nowhere and had one of those really not-funny lyrics you sometimes improvise.
I found the melody quite good and decided to make a whole song out of it. I think the whole process from writing the lyrics to making the production took less than two hours. That means that there’s still a lot of work to be done and the ending string part is really just for show (but it would be nice with real strings).
It also proves that you shall not dismiss funny tunes you make up. Underneath they might hold a full song in store.
